The Department of Emergency Medicine at theHôpital régional de Sudbury Regional Hospital. (HRSRH) is seeking to add an emergency physician to its team.
A developing future
The HRSRH is the tertiary care centre and trauma centre for Northeastern Ontario, and is the base hospital for the regional EMS system. Annual emergency department volume is in excess of 60,000visits, with one of the highest acuities in the province. Construction of a one-site hospital is underway, and Sudbury looks forward to being host to Ontario's new Northern Medical School as of 2004.

A solid team
Several members of our department are involved locally, provincially, and nationally in EM-related activities, including emergency ultrasound, EM informatics, and EMS. Our CFPC(EM) residency, affiliated with the University of Ottawa, has been training emergency medicine residents for over ten years.
Candidates must have obtained Emergency Medicine qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Canadian College of Family Physicians, the Collège des spécialistes de la province de Québec or equivalent, and be eligible for licensure in Ontario.
An extremely competitive package, including income guarantees, is being created for these positions. Sudbury is considered an underserviced area in the specialty of emergency by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and incentive grants may be available. Relocation assistance is also available.
